The La Salle Fund

The La Salle Fund is the University’s annual giving program for alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends. It is made up of thousands of individual gifts each year. Collectively, these gifts allow the University to support its mission of educating deserving students of modest means.

Unrestricted gifts are the University’s first priority because they allow La Salle the flexibility to direct your gift to where our students need it first – scholarships and financial aid. Every gift, regardless of size is extremely important. All gifts will be recognized with a gift acknowledgement and receipt, as well as a listing in the University’s Honor Roll of Donors.

In the fiscal year 2015, The La Salle Fund was able to raise more than $2 million. This would not be possible without the support of our generous alumni, parents, faculty/staff, students, and friends.

  • For the 2015-2016 school year, La Salle University awarded $20 million in University-funded grants and scholarships to its incoming class.
  • 97% of freshmen at La Salle receive institutional aid.
  • The average institutional grant and scholarship for freshmen is $24,100.

Please consider contributing to The La Salle Fund today to create opportunities for future Explorers. Our fiscal year begins on June 1 and ends on May 31.

Donald McAvoy, ’64, was skeptical when La Salle classmate Dick Nunez, ’64, arranged a date for him with a girl named Katherine and told him she’d be the girl of his dreams. But one marriage, five children, and many grandchildren later have proved Nunez right. Don and his wife Katherine are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on July 9, with friends, family, and, of course, Nunez.
